It is the main square of the village. It is named after the portuguese king D. Dinis. Who in 1290 granted the charter that elevated Ourique to the status of village.

We can find in the center of the square the satue of D. Dinis, the cine theater Sousa Telles as well as traces, on the stonework of one of the buildings, of the former hopsital of the Veneravel Ordem terceira de S. Francisco.
