The streets of the village of Janeiro de Cima hide secrets like the Casa das Tecedeiras, a space where the tradition of linen is reinvented by betting on pieces of modern design. Besides the shop, this space also functions as an interpretative centre, where visitors get to know the linen cycle and can experience an old loom.

The artists of the Casa das Tecedeiras are all local inhabitants of the villages, who have benefited from years of training in textile design. Today they are able to produce a wide variety of articles, ranging from clothing and fashion accessories to household linen and decorative items.
