Temple of Mannerist, Baroque and Rococo architecture, it was rebuilt in the 18th century by order of King João V. 
In its interior, the Baroque is already fully vigorous in the large structures of gilded and polychrome carving that overflow from the altarpieces, extending through the triumphal arch, cornices and pelmets. In the facade, the asymmetrical composition of the royal arms stands out, dialoguing with the design of the bell towers, so widely used in the same stylistic period.
