Rota Vicentina - Historical way

I'll be flying to Lisbon with my wife in three weeks where we have a two week road trip planned then after she flies home I'll be walking this with a friend that will meet me at the airport. I'm looking forward to it ... anything out of the ordinary I should be prepared for???
